“Gracefully” by Whitney Mongé (capo 7) (verse 1) Searching, I'm still searching For a life that brings me some peace Working, I'm still working On being the better me When I find it, yes I'll find it I know just what I'll see Well my dreams will come true In all that I do Gracefully (verse 2) Beginning, I'm beginning To listen to my soul If I follow where it leads me Well I know I will be whole There's a reason for every season Though some I'll never know If I believe I am fine Then my life is all right Gracefully (chorus) Sometimes I do things I don't believe in Sometimes I think I'm Driving down the wrong road But when I remember I'm still learning And I'll be learning until I'm old I'll be learning until I'm old (verse 3) Singing, always singing A song that's close to my heart So you can hear me loud and clearly No, we are not worlds apart And I know it, yes I know it A revolution's gonna start If I believe we can change Then the world will rearrange Gracefully (chorus) Sometimes I do things I don't believe in Sometimes I think I'm Driving down the wrong road But when I remember I'm still learning And I'll be learning until I'm old I'll be learning until I'm old (verse 1)(refrain) Searching, I'll keep searching For a life that brings me some peace Working, I'm still working On being the better me When I find it, yes I'll find it I know just what I'll see (retard) Well my dreams will come true In all that I do Gracefully

Home by Whitney Mongé (Verse1) Searching for a place that I can lay my head Breathing barely breathing it’s almost like I’m dead Looking for a space that I can live my life So I’m leaving on a plane I’ll be gone by midnight (Chorus) Will I ever know the place that I call home Will I ever hold the key to why I still roam Will I go, will go……... (Verse 2) Stealing always stealing a piece and a part of me They’re telling me all the things that they think that I should be But my song is the only thing that keeps me moving along So if I follow what they will I finally belong (Chorus) Will I ever know the place that I call home Will I ever hold the key to why I still roam Will I go, will go home Will I ever know the place that I call home Will I ever hold the key to why I still roam Will I go, will go home

A Day of Rest by Whitney Mongé I see that my hands, my hands are tied And I know it was me, me who has lied The truth holds water that I cannot bear Take me out, out of my head Make me lay down, down in this bed I’ve made I fear what I, I cannot feel By now love seems like it’s not so real But my heart does not, not seem to care What is here and what is there What I can have and what is unfair I will define just what is despair By the end of this, the end of this…

about

Whitney Mongé and the Seattle Symphony played a live show on October 2, 2020 that was the first of its kind. Performed and recorded in an empty S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium at Benaroya Hall in downtown Seattle, the scene was set for an interesting new way of creating live music in times of adversity. During unprecedented times, the United States and the majority of countries around the world were in a lockdown due to the unforeseen COVID-19 pandemic. Live music and large gatherings were the first to shut down and remained at a complete standstill for over 8 months. This is ultimately what inspired the vision of cultivating a safe, socially-distant yet unifying musical series for the upcoming 2020 Seattle Symphony season. Through vigorous health safety measures and clever stage setup to make a safe space for all involved, Seattle Symphony put together a unique program called the Essential Series, where local artists collaborate with “the most vital American orchestra” (NPR) . The first show of the series, SSO paired up with roots music singer-songwriter & guitarist, Whitney Mongé, performing twelve of her original songs. Months leading up to the show, Mongé worked closely with award winning composer, Andrew Joslyn to create a cross genre orchestral arrangement of her compositions. The event streamed live online in early Fall 2020 and garnered views around the world, setting an example for music meccas alike that live music can thrive even in the most challenging times. With maestro Lee Mills conducting a forty piece orchestra and the incredible Seattle Symphony stage crew guiding the way, the outcome of this masterpiece show was captured and laid the foundation for this live album to come to fruition. On August 27th, 2021 the album titled, Whitney Mongé Live with the Seattle Symphony is set to be released on all major streaming platforms and select songs will be available on limited edition vinyl.
